In collaboration with my Mentor, Adrienne Kessel (Adrienne Kessel Interiors, Port Jefferson, NY), this Kitchen gut/reno was one of my favorite projects to date.
Client wished to update dated 1982 kitchen and increase counter space/storage without sacrificing functionality.
Client enjoys cooking and baking - he also wanted to introduce 'warmth'. He said his old kitchen was cold and 'sterile'.
We repositioned sink to what we found was original location when house was built (we petitioned orignal building plans from Town), adjusted doorway a few inches and then set about installing half walls where 7' empty space existed. This allowed us to triple counter space. Fridge was repositioned from an awkward corner. We added Bosch wall oven, microwave and warming drawer appliance wall. Dacora Brandywine Coffee Cabinetry (Antique Nickel hardware) with Cambria quartz counters, Mandalay Mirage Glass backsplash, Kindred undermount sink, Kohler Simplice faucet, Waterfalls Porcelain flooring and Duralee Fabrics added punch.
Personal favs: Counter Stools by Lexington Tommy Bahama Ocean Series ...and WAC pendant lighting.
He's happy and Adrienne promised to share Family's home baked bread recipe.
I just want to eat it in this space!
